What’s this? Shurely Shome Mishtake…

Yes, ’tis true… my first post of 2017 – we’re really rockin’ this, aren’t we? Ho hum…

Anyways, this is a bit of a special post because you get to download a FREE BOOK — yup, you do. Read on…

Since Wizards of the Coast (and Stainless Games Ltd) decided to give up supporting their quite excellent Magic: The Gathering computer game, Magic Duels, earlier this year, I was in a bit of a quandary as to what’s to be done with my book and guide to the game (in which I espouse quite vocally how incredibly good and useful this game is to anyone wishing to learn before venturing out into the big wide world of gaming shops, MTG card and deck collecting, etc).

The book, Magic The Gathering – A Primer 2016/2017  was released at the tail end of last year, and I spent the whole of last Summer putting it together originally as a labour of love, before realising that it could prove extremely helpful to anyone else wishing to find out more about all things Magic: The Gathering related…

So, in a fit of lavish magnanimosity (?), I figured I’d offer it here for free download (as a PDF). Yup, the whole thing, all 180+ pages of it!  Just bear in mind that Wizards & Stainless Steel stopped updating the Magic Duels game with the release of its Amonkhet decks at the start of this year (2017), but otherwise a lot of the deckbuilding advice and suggestions therein will still stand you in good steed, especially if you opt to play a Legacy, Vintage, or similar format of the game (don’t worry, these terms are all explained fully in the book – indeed, there’s a decent Glossary and Keyword List in there as well).

Frankly, it’s a damn good book, and I loved writing it, so do go ahead, download and enjoy… And feel free to get in touch with any feedback you may have, either here or through Twitter: @mangozoid

I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this so readily available, but for now, you may as well take advantage of it…
